Dedicated to the idea of  creating a  chamber music society, our founders designed the structure for what is now known as Black Hills Chamber Music Society. For over 58 years we have been bringing beautiful chamber music to our community through  Concerts, Community Outreach and Collaborations.
We are thrilled to present an exceptional lineup of the top professional chamber soloists and ensembles directly to the Black Hills.​

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Black Hills Chamber Music Society (BHCMS) is to promote and increase our community's understanding and appreciation of Chamber Music by presenting activities and performances. The BHCMS provides musical entertainment and informative musical performances/activities for all citizens in the Rapid City area, including those who might not otherwise have artistic or cultural opportunities. The Board of Volunteers of the BHCMS offers a five-concert chamber music series involving local, national and international artists and also provides several successful outreach projects. The music sponsored reflects diversity and balance from all musical eras, group size (solo to chamber) and instrumentation. The projects sponsored benefit people of all ages, race, gender and socio-economic status. The BHCMS advocates for the arts as performances of quality chamber music are provided in every elementary school in the Rapid City school system, many elderly care centers, the Black Hills Children's Home and the general public through our Annual five-concert season.
